What is Dairy Pearls Rumen Bypass Fat

.

While modern dairy cows can produce significant amounts of milk, the result of it is a much higher energy demand for the cow to reach its maximum potential. Dairy Pearls Bypass Fat (also known as rumen protected fat, inert fat and fat powder for animal feed) helps to fill this energy gap.

Dairy Pearls is an ultra-high-energy palatable rumen-protected fat that significantly increases the energy density of a dairy ration.

It is made from 100% palm fat and is used to drive milk yield and to reduce body condition loss particularly in the early lactation period which is directly linked to better fertility.

Our rumen-protected fat is considered odour neutral and is very easy to handle and mix into the ration.

Why Use Dairy Pearls Bypass Fat for Your Dairy Cows

.

The energy requirements of a cow, particularly in early lactation, can exceed energy intakes due to post carving appetite depression. This can lead to negative energy balance, poor fertility and production losses.

Adding fats to the diet seems like a great idea due to large amounts of energy, however, all fats can’t deliver the same impact.

For instance, while non-bypass unsaturated fats in the diet can lead to an increase in milk production, they often tend to lower milk-fat content. It happens due to the hydrogenation and lipolysis of unsaturated fats in the rumen by the rumen microorganisms. With Dairy Pearls Rumen Protected Fat we can avoid it since our fats are rumen-resistant.

Rumen-protected fats, also known as rumen bypass fats like Dairy Pearls are critically important to feed as they have greater than 3 times the energy level of cereals but can be fed in much smaller amounts.

This means you can easily increase the energy density via ration. This helps to increase intakes and therefore boost production.

Dairy Pearls rumen protected fat is much more palatable than calcium soaps which can actually reduce dry matter intake due to their soapy taste and smell.

Dairy Pearls inert fat will maintain the dry matter intake which is important especially during early lactation.

Dairy Pearls can increase milk production by 2 litres, increase milk fat percentage, maintain milk protein and reduce body weight loss which obviously means extra revenue and additional profits for you.

Dairy Pearls can also maintain or improve body condition which is usually linked to increased reproductive performance.

A drop of a half a body score can decrease the conception rates by 10%.

Due to improved body condition, multiple trials have shown Dairy Pearls can increase the conception rate by 19-22%.

Poor fertility performance can amount to losses in significant amounts so I’m sure you see why it makes sense to reduce or eliminate these losses.

The farms that use Dairy Pearls experience the greatest financial impact when Dairy Pearls are fed in the first 150 days of lactation when the cow’s energy demand is greatest.

For example, if you feed 400g of Dairy Pearls you can expect a milk yield increase of 1.5 litres and a butterfat response of 0.1%.

Let’s do some math… let’s assume you’ve got a heard of 100 cows and you add an additional profit of $0.32 per cow per day just from the milk response. As a result, you’re adding $4875 total heard profit for the first 150 days of lactation. Not bad, right?

And, that’s not all… there are cost savings for improved fertility. By reducing carving intervals by just one day you’ll save approximately $5.30 per cow which accounts for $530 dollars for a 100 cow herd.

How Can Dairy Pearls Bypass Fat
Bypass Rumen?

.

Palm fats are well-known for their high melting point. Due to this, they are able to bypass the rumen and be absorbed in the small intestine allowing the cow to benefit from the fatty acids instead of degrading in the rumen and depressing fibre digestion.

How can Dairy Pearls Inert Fat be Used?

.

It is very easy to incorporate Dairy Pearls into your herd’s daily ration which provides peace of mind and a ration consistency for you as well as generate additional profits for you.

You can use it either by incorporating it in your total mixed ration, included in the blend or top-dressed onto forage. Uncertain? Please ask our consultants and we’ll help you find the solution that fits you the best.

Difference

C16:0 & C18:0 Long-Chain Fatty Acids

.

Dairy Pearls Bypass Fat is high in C16:0 and C18:0 content, very palatable and extremely high in energy. Fat is the most energy-dense nutrient available containing 4 times the energy value of a carbohydrate. For modern dairy scientists, it is not a secret that long-chain fatty acids such as C16:0 and C18:0, found in palm fats, are the most influential ingredient affecting lactation efficiency. The incorporation of these fatty acids into milk butterfat is even more efficient than milk fat synthesis in the udder.

While C16:0 and C18:0 are similar in their chemical formula differing only by two carbon atoms, their role in the dairy cow’s metabolism are different.

About Us

Manufacturer of Bypass Fat in Malaysia

.

Due to the ongoing attempts of dairy farmers to fill the energy gaps of their dairy cows, palm fat is finding a foundation role in supporting milk and milk fat production levels.

Our factory in Malaysia is GMP+ certified and in the manufacturing process, we’re using the co-product of the palm oil processing. Manufacturing within one factory under GMP+ results in a consistent quality for your dairy cattle feed.

Summary

WHY DOES IT MATTER TO FEED FAT?

.
  • IT’S A LOGICAL CHOICE FOR ENERGY DENSITY

  • BOOSTING RATION ENERGY DENSITY

  • ACIDOSIS AND LAMINITIS CAN BE AVOIDED OF FEEDING HIGH LEVELS OF GRAINS.

  • 500G OF FATS = 1.5 TO 1.7 KILOS OF CORN ENERGY LEVELS

  • REPLACEMENT FOR FORAGES WHEN NOT READILY AVAILABLE

  • GREATLY MEETS ENERGY DEMAND FOR MILK PRODUCTION COWS

  • BYPASS FATS DO NOT AFFECT RUMEN FERMENTATION

All Bypass Fats Aren't Equal

Pay Attention When Choosing

.
  • THE ENERGY CONTENT OF A BYPASS FAT

  • INTESTINAL DIGESTIBILITY

  • MAKE COMPARISONS IN ENERGY LEVELS

  • HIGHER LEVELS OF STEARIC ACID MAY HAVE SLIGHTLY REDUCED DIGESTIBILITY

  • HIGH LEVELS OF PALMITIC ACID (GREATER THAN 80 %), INCREASES MILK FAT PRODUCTION

  • PARTICLE SIZE COULD BE CRITERIA FOR PURCHASING. PRILLED IS FAVORED

  • CALCIUM SALTS OF LONG-CHAIN FATTY ACIDS DERIVED FROM PALM OIL PROCESSING HAVE THE HIGHEST INTESTINAL DIGESTIBILITY AMONG RUMEN BYPASS FATS.
